Garden day went very well, with plant sales in the courtyard and lovely exhibits in the long gallery including garden photography, painting, mosaics, garden design, floristry and even garden themed hats.
Unfortunately I was busy and distracted enough that I only took four pictures throughout the entire day and two of those were of a butterfly and thus not entirely relevant! Ian le Gros gave us a very amusing talk about Hyde Hall, and gave me some worrying advice about a sick looking plant (more details in later posts). The garden tours and nature walk were very popular. In my tour I covered the history of the garden, talked about our trees and also about the developments we’ve recently made and our plans for the future and Wayne’s nature walk covered how to attract wildlife into the garden.
I’m already thinking about how we can make next year even bigger and better!
