Spring has sproinged! And about bloody time too. I actually felt motivated to take some pictures:

Narcissus 'Jetfire'

Narcissus ‘Jetfire’

The pretty little pansy in the bottom is Viola ‘Brushstrokes’ which I grew from seed to brighten the Spring containers.

Blue hyacinths

These hyacinths are some I planted out after using them in the house and their label has gone missing (if there ever was one… oops). The garden gets more and more hyacinths, narcissus and miniature irises every year because each season I grow them for Spring containers and then plug gaps with them once they’re over.

And you just can’t beat sunlit daffs in April:

What I can’t insert in the post is the smell of freshly mown grass. Take a deep breath and… ahhhhh.

  1. Yay!! If spring is finally with you, hopefully it’ll start heading northwards at some point?
My mum’s garden gets more and more hyacinths every year too. She buys them in pots for the house, then they spend the summer lined up outside, waiting for someone to decide where to put them. 🙂

    • Um yes my greenhouse generally has a little corner of shame outside consisting of bulbs I haven’t planted yet, sometimes lasts until the autumn when I just plant them with this year’s purchases!

  2. I do the same with bulbs. Usually buy them cut price in January, pot up, enjoy the flowering then plant in the garden.

  3. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh lovely smell x

  4. It’s been a long time coming, but the best thing about this year has been everything coming out in a rush. Suddenly it’s all there. Love your pictures.
